Old Hall Farm, Bouth
Old Hall Farm provides a unique insight into the workings of a traditional Lake District farm by using many lost and forgotten farming techniques.
The team work using 19th century methods to grow crops and harvest the land, making use of horse power, alongside steam and early vintage tractors and their implements.
The historic buildings are home to the farm’s livestock and also house the farm’s steam driven dairy. The aim is to be make the farm as self-sufficient as possible; by growing its own feed and producing and rearing its livestock.
There is always lots going on at Old Hall Farm, with a number of special events throughout the year and the farm also offers visitors the opportunity to take part a range of experience days including working with Shire horses, steam ploughing, vintage tractor driving and aspects of animal husbandry.
