Fell Foot Park
The Hare & Hounds, Bowland Bridge is a perfect base for exploring the Lake District. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this inspiring landscape greets you as you step out of the Inn’s front door.
Gently rolling fells, majestic lakes, meandering rivers in dappled woodland valleys are all just waiting to be discovered. Fell Foot Park is the perfect place for a family day out, with all manner of activities to enjoy, including theatre evenings and music gigs in the summer months. There’s also plenty of stuff to keep you in trim, including Park Run, and hiring a kayak or a rowing boat, both are perfect for getting a duck’s eye view of the lake. If that all sounds like too much hard work then you could just simply wander through the wild flower meadow, taking in the views of the River Leven or the drama of Windermere itself flanked by Chapel House woods and Gummer’s How, an iconic viewing spot in its own right with its expansive views over the Lakeland Fells. Alongside the stunning views down the lake, and the numerous family friendly activities on offer at Fell Foot, visitors can also take advantage of the onsite café, the perfect place to tuck into a coffee and a slice of cake after a gentle wander. |
